Enrollment
As a charter school, enrollment to C2E classes is limited and demand is often greater than positions for students. C2E holds an enrollment lottery of all students who have submitted letters of interest. The families are put on a waitlist for the year they applied for in the order they come out of the lottery. Open positions are filled from the waitlist. We recommend filing your Letter of Interest early, but realize that circumstances cause families to change the school they will enroll in, or that families may move. In the event that you are no longer interested in a position at C2E, please contact us so that we can fill an open enrollment positions from another interested family. Please remember offers and communication from Challenge to Excellence is done through email as we are a paperless school. Keeping your email address up to date is very important. Letters of Interest are accepted through the last day of school in September with the lottery taking place during the middle of October. Please see below for specific guidelines on the enrollment process.
Offers and Deadlines
First round of kindergarten offers being made off the current waitlist, or students who have already gone through the lottery process in previous years, will begin the first week of October. This offer will include kindergarten siblings and current kindergarten waitlisted students only. Please note that all sibling Letters of Interest are due by September 15th to be granted sibling status (all grades). If this date falls on a weekend, the Friday before the 15th will be the cut off. All Letters of Interest for siblings turned in after the cut off will not be guaranteed sibling status and placed onto the waitlist based on timestamp.
All complete Letters of Interest for perspective students must be submitted before the last day of school in September. Please remember that all Letters of Interest must be complete with a Birth Certificate, Proof of Residency, and Immunization Record. Incomplete Letters of Interest are subject to decline.
Challenge to Excellence will hold our lottery on the 15th of October which will place students on the according year waitlist. If this date falls on a weekend, the lottery will be held on the Friday before. Families may begin contacting the office beginning the second week in November to find out their placement of their child on the waitlist if they have not heard from us before hand. All Letters of Interest that have been submitted after the lottery cut off date will be time stamped and added to the bottom of the waitlist in order received.We will begin to make offers to students who went through the lottery process for the following year the first week in November. Please be sure that you have toured the school by the time offers will be made as there will not be time allotted to do so once an offer has begun. Additional Notes
Offers are made through email only. While we try to do a follow up call to ensure you have received the offer, this is not guaranteed. Please be sure to check email often once offers have started to be made. If an offer is made and no contact has been made with the school within the window given, an automatic decline will be assumed and you will have to submit a new Letter of Interest to be placed back onto the waitlist.
Sibling Status: When an offer is made to one student in a family, upon acceptance we will grant other family members waiting to get into C2E sibling status. This will place the waiting sibling at the top of the waitlist behind any other waiting siblings and granted preference to enroll in C2E once a position is available. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to get in all siblings but do try our best. Sibling status may be revoked if the original offered student declines the offer.
Once a Letter of Interest has been submitted to Challenge to Excellence, you do not need to reapply every year unless you have declined an offer. If you are not offered a position within the current year, your child will roll to the waitlist for the next school year.
